Set against the stunning backdrop of our school fields, the new space will offer a modern, welcoming environment where pupils can relax, connect, and enjoy informal school events. While the facility will be open to the entire school community, it will primarily serve pupils in the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Forms, providing them with a dedicated space to unwind and socialise together.
The new common room has been thoughtfully designed to encourage further connection across the houses and year groups. It will also boast a dedicated outside area perfect for summer barbecues and gatherings, creating a vibrant hub at the heart of our school.
Parents will also benefit from the new space during school fixtures, as it will serve as a comfortable venue for match teas and a place to gather and enjoy warm drinks and snacks during school fixtures.
This exciting development has been made possible in part thanks to the generous support of our parent community and OAs, whose donations have helped bring this vision to life. Their contributions reflect the strong sense of community and shared commitment to enhancing the pupil experience at King’s.
We look forward to unveiling the new Junior Common Room in the Michaelmas term and seeing it become a community hub within the school.
