Ladi Nylander OA, Meynell 1965

On a recent visit to school, Ladi Nylander was shown around by Richard Llewellyn

Ladi Nylander's visit to King's

We were delighted to welcome Ladi Nylander back to school at the weekend, marking a special occasion filled with reflection, nostalgia and celebration.

Having last been on site over 60 years ago when he left Meynell in 1965, Ladi was struck by how remarkably well the school has been maintained. He described the setting as still looking ‘brand new’, praising its continued care and development over the decades.

Ladi, along with his niece and grand-nephew, received a warm welcome from Richard Llewellyn, who happened to be around at the weekend. Richard's knowledge and enthusiasm helped bring back many memories for Ladi, making the experience both personal and meaningful.

Reflecting on the day, Ladi shared his admiration for the school and extended his congratulations to all involved in maintaining its high standards, along with best wishes for its continued success in the future.

Ladi noted the only thing lacking from his tour was “Mrs Smith’s life-saving tuck shop”!
