Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary to Gerry & Jan Wells-Cole!

It was wonderful to celebrate this remarkable milestone with Gerry and Jan as they marked 60 years of marriage surrounded by family and friends here at King's.

The afternoon began with a special anniversary service in the Chapel, led by Chaplain Father Mark, before guests gathered to share afternoon tea and hear memories and stories spanning six decades of married life.

The occasion was made even more meaningful by the strong King's connection that runs through the family. The Wells-Cole family spans two generations of OAs: Gerry and Jan's children, James Wells-Cole (Tuckwell, 1989), Mark Wells-Cole (Tuckwell, 1992), Rebecca Payne (née Wells-Cole) (Meynell, 1996), and Dominic Wells-Cole (Bishop Fox, 1999). The younger generation includes Olivia Boyd (Taylor, 2022) and Thomas Boyd (King Alfred, 2024), while Albert and Wilfred Payne are current pupils at King's Prep.

The celebration became a reunion as well as an anniversary, bringing together friends old and new to honour Gerry and Jan's beautiful partnership. 

For many guests, returning to King's prompted fond reflections on their school days, adding another layer of nostalgia to an already memorable day.

Congratulations to Gerry and Jan on this extraordinary anniversary. We wish them continued happiness and many more years together.
