Enhancing King's Funding Day: Connecting Donors with Pupil-Focused Projects

Our third Enhancing King's Funding Day took place on Wednesday 22 April, bringing together donors and pupils to connect the funds raised by our generous community with projects that make a direct difference to school life.

A group of funders joined us for the day, including John Coles (OA), Chris Rew (OA) Treasurer of the OA Club, and Annabelle and Debbie from the Parents’ and Friends’ Association. Members of the panel visited both the Prep School and the College to hear presentations on two exciting projects.

A Laser Cutter for the Prep School

At the Prep School, the Head of Design Technology and a group of pupils gave a compelling presentation on how DT enhances the school, and how a laser cutter would enable pupils to produce more refined, ambitious projects with links through to the College. Our DT scholars were delighted to share their design passions and career ambitions with the panel. The panel were pleased to commit to funding a fully functioning laser cutter for the school.

The Innovation Hub

In the afternoon, the panel gathered at the College to hear from pupils about a new Innovation Hub, set to launch at King's in September. This exciting initiative will provide pupils with cutting-edge knowledge and training in AI, innovation, and robotics, and will develop over successive years as an integral part of the King's experience. The panel committed funds to help launch the project, and we are currently securing additional funding to ensure it opens on time.

If you would like to support the Innovation Hub, please get in touch at development@kings-taunton.co.uk.
