Find an OA who can help
Please ensure you have read King’s Global Connect ‘Code of Conduct’ before asking for help.
You can search for OAs using different criteria, all of which are displayed by in the search panel.
You can select multiple criteria options within and across the different search functions. For example, you can search for someone who works in Finance in the USA, or someone works at Emirates Group in the UK.
You can also search on the type of help you are looking for under 'select mentoring categories’. This will identify those offering help with specific mentoring areas, e.g. CV review or Industry specific.
The ‘teams/functions’ search option allows you to search for the role or profession someone holds within their industry. This allows you to search for example, for someone who works in Management within the Accountancy industry.
Once you have selected all your criteria, click on ‘search mentors’. This will bring up a list of those within KGC who match your criteria. NB. You will need to be logged in to view your matches. The list will display the most relevant matches at the top and those who meet all your criteria will be displayed first, before those who meet part of it e.g. the industry but not the country is a match.
Within the list of matches, you will see a person's name, their location, their most recent employer and the KCG categories they have signed up to help with.
Once you have chosen a mentor who fits your requirements, click on the ‘message’ button to contact them. A dialogue box will open and in here you can select what they can help with, enter a subject line and then write your full message.
There is no need to include your contact details in the first message as the person you have messaged will automatically be notified via email that you have asked for help, and you will also be notified when your request has been answered. Current pupils should only message users using the KCG platform and not give out their personal contact details.
If the list of matches isn't quite what you are looking for, you can click on 'return and refine your search' to amend your search criteria.
If you cannot find a user that matches your criteria, please contact the Development Office and we will try to help you.
