Former King’s College Prep pupils among top academic achievers
Former King’s College Prep pupils have once again demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, with 7 out of 10 of the highest performing pupils joining us from the Prep school in September 2022. Their success reflects not only individual talent and determination but also the strength of teaching from the Prep right the way through and highlights the tailored academic support that enables pupils to achieve their very best.
Excellence extending beyond academics
Many of our top academic performers, including academic, sport, and music scholars, also play leading roles in wider school life. From Year 9 to the Fifth Form, pupils contribute actively to our rich variety of clubs and societies, our performing arts opportunities and on the sports field, with many achieving success at the highest levels alongside their studies.
This balance of achievement reflects King’s renowned commitment to education beyond the classroom and is a testament to the wide range of opportunities available to every pupil. Notably, many have embodied the King’s ethos by excelling across multiple areas of school life.
Several pupils have achieved extraordinary success this year across a wide range of disciplines.
Rising sports stars include Emily M, an exceptional horse rider and sportswoman who is the reigning European U16 Biathlon Champion. Peter MG made his debut for the Somerset Men’s 1st golf team, while Brodie D was selected to represent the Scotland U16 hockey team.
Cameron G reached a remarkable milestone by earning a place on the prestigious Royal Navy Cadet Wings programme, a national initiative open only to the very best cadets from the Combined Cadet Force (Royal Navy sections), Sea Cadet Corps, and Volunteer Cadet Corps.
Meanwhile, Freddie W has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, the most esteemed of its kind in the UK, recognising the country’s most talented young designers and inspiring the engineers of the future.
Commenting on this year’s results Headmaster Michael Sloan said, “I would like to congratulate all Fifth Form pupils on a fantastic set of results. We know how hard you have worked, and it is wonderful to see that dedication to study rewarded today. We are looking forward to welcoming pupils back to school in a couple of weeks to continue the next stage of their journey with many more accomplishments yet to come”.
As we celebrate the achievements of our students here in the UK, we also extend our heartfelt congratulations to our pupils at King’s College Doha for their terrific showing in both this year’s A Level and GCSE examinations. It’s always inspiring to see the strength of our international community reflected in these shared milestones.
